OUR SPEAKERS
Rav Michoel Elias, shlita, serves as the beloved Rav of Congregation Kehilas Yisroel in Spring Valley, New York, and is a sought-after maggid shiur in Yeshivas Ohr Hachaim in Queens. Rabbi Elias grew up in Monsey and learned for many years in Telz Yeshiva in Cleveland under Rav Mordechai Gifter, zt”l and his rebbe muvhak, Rav Yitzchok Sorotzkin, shlita. He also learned in Yeshivas Brisk for seven years and then joined the Brisker Kollel for five years. He has authored a number of widely acclaimed seforim, including the highly regarded Minchas Mordechai on Seder Kodshim, Maseches Yuma, and Parsha. A compelling and engaging speaker, Rabbi Elias is frequently invited to lecture across the United States and Canada.
Rebbetzin Mimi Elias is a dedicated high school morah at Bais Yaakov of Monsey. In addition to her role as Rebbetzin, she teaches both Limudei Kodesh and Limudei Chol and is an accomplished public speaker.
The Elias family lived in Eretz Yisroel for ten years before settling in Monsey close to thirty years ago. Their children and grandchildren continue in their footsteps, contributing to Torah learning and teaching in communities throughout the United States and Canada.
Rabbi Yaakov Levy was born and raised in France. He attended yeshiva in Gateshead, England, and later studied at Yeshivas Be’er Yaakov under Rav Moshe Shmuel Shapiro zt”l. After marrying his wife, Sarah, who hails from Brooklyn, New York, they settled in Yerushalayim, where Rabbi Levy spent four years studying in Yeshivas Brisk, followed by eight years in the Agudah Kollel in Vienna, Austria.
Rabbi Levy currently serves as a distinguished rosh chaburah in Beth Medrash Govoha and also teaches adults in the Bukharian community in Queens, New York.
